It's been a great start to our summer in La Jolla! The sun is out and the water is warming up everyday. Our tours have been full of animal sightings, everything from a few late in the season grey whales to our usual residents: the Bottlenose dolphins and sea lions.
On our tours on calm days we have been venturing into the Devil's Slide area in search of it's summer residents, the leopard sharks. They have been coming in by the dozen, enjoying the warm water as much as us! The caves are always an adventure and it's been great to show everyone all of the wildlife that spends time there. The Brandt's Cormorants have been busy building nests and within a few weeks we should be hearing the familiar chirping of their chicks.
One of our rarest animals has been seen multiple times in the last few weeks. We love our green sea turtles in La Jolla and it's always awesome to see them them popping up to breath as they graze along the sea grass meadows. We'd love to take you out on the water and show you all the beauty that La Jolla has to offer! You can always give us a call in the shop or book a tour through our website.
